Voices of Change: Black Organizations Galvanize for the 2024 Election

Brandy S. Faulkner, an advisor with extensive experience in advocating for the African American community, discusses her objective and intention to incorporate the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People at Virginia Tech in correlation with this year’s election.

Faulkner has dedicated her career at Virginia Tech to advocate for the intersection of politics and race. She has been with the university for over a decade and has been advising the organization for six years.

Her leadership in the Blacksburg area is a powerful reminder of the importance of political engagement.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People has been a part of Virginia Tech since 1982 and became the largest Black organization on campus.

On October 15th, the NAACP is hosting an open forum discussion about the key issues at stake and the importance of voting this year at Goodwin Hall, Room 135 for all students to attend.
